Hallway Beautification Project

I had almost forgotten that I promised Stacey at Jamee Forever that I would post photos of my hallway beautification project. Previously, these walls had been a peach color for six years, the color I chose when I first moved into this house with my two daughters and had known nothing but white apartment walls for many years before.

hall way red The photos on the wall were all taken by me, except the Eiffel tower one that the Big Guy took on our honeymoon. So what you see, left to right, are the doorhandle to St. Mungo’s Catherdral in Glasgow, the bedroom window of our honeymoon villa in Tuscany, the Eiffel Tower (with me and First Born in heavy shadow in the foreground), a church in Puerto Vallarta, a doorway in Galena, Illinois, and a sculpture of happy nuns in a religious museum in Glasgow.

peach bathroom Next up is our tiny bathroom. See the “before” picture? Fairly feminine and blah. We will be working on a more neutral theme that I intend to finish before Joe’s family arrives for Easter. Does anyone know how to lay tile?

Want to lose 4 pounds in one week? Have your doctor increase the amoxicillin prescription for your sinus infection to 1800 mg a day. Your intestines will be as clean as a new-born baby’s. Just stick close to the bathroom.

1800 milligrams, you say? I’m on it.

And what if I don’t want to communicate with my teen? At all?

  2. angelawd Says:

Oooh, suburban, that’s a great idea for a new post. One way is to talk about your sex life. They’ll disappear into their rooms like scurrying cockroaches.

Awesome advice on Teen Tamer. Thank you for sharing that post with us!

I LOVE your photo idea. I’ve got to get some of my photos framed and on the walls.

I have to say that I really like the color of your walls. And it’s like a memory wall too.I think I will pass on your antibiotic diet plan.

Okay I was JUST watching some rerun show and the hallway was that dark red color and I thought to myself “Hmmm…this is very cool, I like it!” and here is the color on yours! It’s a detail I don’t always remember, hallways. Well done!

Hey if you find a tile person, send her my way, okay? I have ugly white hospital’ish bathroom tile in my kitchen. Ewww!

1800 mg? I need to go look in my medicine cabinet right now! I need to loose 10 a week, may need 3600. I’ll let ya know! ;)

Mother & Stacey, I love the color too. It’s called “Red Velvet”. Just the Ace Hardware store brand. We have the same color in our family room.

I’m afraid to pull up the bathroom tile because of what the flooring below it will look like.

I love the Notebook idea! Beastie and I “txt” when live-action words are too difficult. But with old-fashioned handwriting, I can reclaim the advantage –

Oh, wait; that’s not exactly in the spirit of the thing, is it?

Seriously, it’s a wonderful idea, and I’m not only implementing it, but I’m going to share it with all the other soccer team moms with whom I’m sharing a hotel right now.

(I tried to comment on capessa, but it didn’t seem to be working.)

That looks like an art gallery wall!! When you earlier described what you were planning I was thinking maybe it might not work out so well, but WOW!! I’m big enough to admit when I’m DEAD WRONG! I love that! Wish Hubby liked color more… I have to fight to just get bone or beige on the walls! LOL! I guess he can’t be perfect in every way, can he? ;o)

We’ve used the notebook idea before. It is truly a great tool if used correctly. We’ve also used sticky notes (should have bought stock in the company! LOL!), crayon on mirrors (apologies that are hard to say in person) and musical selections that convey a message we want heard.

I wanted to go read your article to see what else you suggested, but I just get that dang 404 NOt found message. :o(

Sorry, Damama, something seems to be going wrong with Capessa. They’re working on fixing it!

I’m glad you liked the hallway. I’m reallyy loving it too.

I love your idea about communicating through music!
