Economic Stimulus Feast (Food Porn)

How about a little food porn for you? The Big Guy had a tough week of church politics, and I had a week of heavy client deadlines. Imagine how happy we were to check our bank account and see that our tax refund had been deposited! It was time for a feast of sensuous, seductive foods. Want to cook like Joe? Sure you do. Here’s how.

Step 1: Pour yourself a glass of cabernet. Or whatever red wine you love the best.

Step 2: Season your steak with Joe’s special Creole Essence. It will need to marinate for a half hour.

Step 3: Set out a little snack of cheese and crackers, because it will be a while before dinner is ready. Here we have a Dutch cheese similar to asiago, and a mozzarella roll stuffed with prosciutto and fresh basil. Mmmmm…so good.

Step 4: Get out a saucepan and simmer about 2 tablespoons of Penzey’s Crab Boil. You know what’s coming next, don’t you?

Step 5: Yes! It’s king crab legs! Oh, baby! Place your crab legs into a large roasting pan. Pour the crab boil mixture over the legs and put the lid on. Put the pan in a 375 degree oven for 30-45 minutes (if frozen). So good I can almost taste it.

Step 6: Mmm…it smells good by now. Can you hear my voice deepening to Barry White’s? “Yeah, baby…” While you’re swooning over the aroma, put your t-bone on the grill and start cutting up your vegetables.

Step 7: Eat. Yes, baby, yes! Yes!

Yum! Can I come over?? ;)

I had fun spending some of our “stimulus” check too…bought some clothes. I even blogged a letter to the President to say, “You are welcome…I did my part…stimulated the economy to the best of my ability.” !

We just got our taxes back and realized that we actually forgot to tell the accountant about the birth of our latest child! So we’ll be getting some more back whenever the government gets around to sending it…probably, oh, 4 years from now :)
