She talked to me!
Late at night, I knocked on my teen’s door to see if she needed anything. She began to speak to me. Nicely. Um…torrentially.
Coworkers and managers, workouts and summer study plans. A sewing project. What she did with her sister. A book she’s reading. And I was so tired my eyes were drooping.
“I’m sorry, honey, I’m exhausted. Let’s pick this up in the morning.”
“OK.”
I started to walk out the door.
“Mom?”
“Yeah?”
“Thanks for talking with me.”
Wuh? WUH? Wait, I’m AWAKE!

Wow! Don’t you love those moments. They make the *other* times more bearable. Like motherwise, I hope there are many more to come.

YAY. What a great moment.
I wanted you to know, I’ve been reading your last few posts, but haven’t had time to comment anywhere lately - my heart has really gone out to you. I hope that things work out, and/or that you find peace and learn what’s in store for you and your husband. I’m keeping you in my thoughts.

You’re such an inspiration to me, Angela. I’m so very glad you had that moment with your little girl, what a gift she is to you.
Ours is home (10, I’m counting) and seems to be better, but you know our story. It’s only for this day, I’ll take it, and I’ll remember the others are in His hands anyway. xoxo
