Another Teen vs. Twenty Moment
Me: “Joe and I both lost our jobs yesterday, honey.”
Twenty (rubbing my arm): “I’m sorry Mom. What are you going to do?”
Me: “Look for new ones. We’re strong and healthy. There’s a lot we can do.”
Twenty: “I know I can’t help much, but if there’s anything I can do, please just ask me. I have a little money saved.”
Me: “Joe and I both lost our jobs yesterday, honey.”
Teen: “What are we going to do about school clothes shopping?”
Me: “We’ll go shopping once I get a new job.”
Teen: “Are you kidding me? School starts next week.”
Me: “Or maybe we’ll go shopping on Neverday.”

Ooh, yeah, you can just feel that love and concern from the younger one, can’t you?

I wish I could say that’d never happen here, but you know better, so I can’t! Hugs and prayers. xoxo

Ahh, the carefree blindness of youth. Wouldn’t it be lovely to live in that “Me ME ME” world for one more time - the one where all of the problems belong to Mom and Dad and our biggest complaint is not getting the cool clothes we want?
OK, you’re right. That would kind of suck.
Hang in there.
I hold you in my prayers.

Neverday … love that!
I am so sorry for all the stress you are under … things DO have a way of working out, though. It sounds trite but I really do believe it. You are in my prayers.
