Shopgirl gets mad

The other day, a lady came in to Home Decorating Store with a chihuahua on her shoulder. It snapped at everyone in sight. So did she.

Just because Britney Spears used to carry a dog in her purse does not make it OK to take pets into retail stores with you.

I was ringing up a lady who had been on her cell phone the entire time she was in our store. I knew this because she TALKED EXTREMELY LOUDLY about what he said and then what she said back to him and then what she thought about what they both said.

I gave her the credit card slip and told her where to sign it. “I’m sorry I’m being rude,” she said to her friend. “I am talking while I’m shopping.”

Um, the friend was NOT the only person she was rude to. Did she not even recognize that there was another human being at the other end of the sales transaction?

When I signed my timecard yesterday, I saw it was edited in red pen. A note at the bottom said, “Please clock in and out at your scheduled time.” Their timecard system rounds time up or down by SIX MINUTES. So if you are one minute late, it rounds your time up so you appear to be six minutes late. Or if you are one minute early, it looks like you’ve milked the company for six minutes that you didn’t actually work.

And apparently those six minutes are a problem that requires red editing rather than a conversation. Gee, all this fun for minimum wage.

Funny, it didn’t seem to matter to them that they made me take out garbage for 20 minutes past my scheduled time yesterday.

Can we please go back to the days when young people were required to take etiquette classes??? I remember being TOLD TO BE POLITE. Seems like people just don’t teach it to their kids anymore. GRRR! ;o)

I’ve done my sentence in retail and I can completely relate to rude idiots like that. Some people just have no common decency today. And WHAT’S UP WITH RUDE MANAGERS?!?!?!?
